Most apparel begins its life in a plastic cocoon. Whether it's a shirt or a bag, a shoe or a hat, it arrived at your local retailer individually wrapped in plastic. At UBB, we believe that individually wrapping our products in plastic is a wasteful and unnecessary step, so we don't do it.
UBB products are made in various facilities around the world. Currently, most of our organic t-shirts (such as the one you just scanned) are made in southern India in a vertically integrated facility, where everything from weaving, cutting, sewing, dyeing, printing, and packaging is done.
UBB recognizes that less impact does not mean no impact. Currently there is no such thing as a 100% sustainable product. The reality of business is that making things causes harm to our environment. UBB is actively trying to minimize the impact our manufacturing has on the environment. A few of the things we do to reduce our impact are:

100% plastic free packaging - Almost all apparel made around the world are individually wrapped in plastic bags after production. Instead of plastic, UBB uses banana-fiber bags.

UBB garments are made with 100% organic cotton

Our hangtag is made from elephant dung and is completely biodegradable.

Our mission of removing 1 pound of trash from oceans and waterways for every 1 product sold helps us neutralize (albeit in a different way) the negative environmental impact of running even the most sustainable business.
